Cathy Coates Conlin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She subsequently moved to Colorado with her family and attended the University of Southern Colorado at Pueblo. This university experience established the foundation for Cathy’s acceptance to the Stormont Vail School of Nursing, graduating in 1980 as a Registered Nurse. Her career path in nursing offered her the opportunity to work in the Emergency Department at St. Francis Hospital for 13 years.
Cathy then spent 8 years as a Radiation Oncology Nurse for an additional 8 years at St. Francis Hospital. During this period Cathy achieved the educational standing in oncology of O.C.N. During this period of time Cathy also worked as a surgical scrub nurse for a local General Surgeon. Additionally she worked as an office nurse for a local Internal Medicine physician.
Cathy continued her educational pursuits in receiving her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Fort Hays State University as well as achieving licensure as a Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped.) while working full time and being a full time mother.
Cathy joined the Jayhawk Pharmacy, her and her husband Mike’s family business. Cathy again sought higher education, achieving the credential of Certified Mastectomy Fitter which greatly complements her prior experience as an oncology nurse earlier in her career.
Cathy is responsible for patient and physician relations relating to selection of appropriate durable medical equipment to fit the exact needs of Jayhawk Pharmacy and Patient Supply patients. In addition, she helps patients, families and health care providers navigate the complexities of insurance coverage for durable medical equipment and supplies. Cathy and her business office team advocate on behalf of the patient to ensure that their health care needs are met fully.
